We are very lucky here in the South West  to have such a rich and varied range of dive sites on our door step.

The list here is a small selection of the most popular dive sites.

The Scylla  Frigate that was sunk last year as an artificial reef in Whitsands bay. It is 24m to the sea bed and 12m to the deck, it is now starting to  develop some life.

The James Egan Layne Liberty ship that sank at the end of WW2,she is still upright and still one of the best dives in the UK. At high tide it is 22m to the sea bed and 8m to the bow.

The Persier lies in 28m in Bigbury bay where the vis can be better than the Whitsand Bay sites. She is quite flat now but the boilers stand up and there is a swim through, this with the abundance of Marine life make this a very popular dive.

The Elk was a converted trawler that hit a mine and sank in WW2,she is in about 32m just 2 miles south of the breakwater and has really profuse life, a brilliant dive.

Hands Deep A couple of miles south west of the Eddystone this offshore reef can give superb visibility and an abundance of life 45m to base of the reef 12m to the top of the reef.

Further reading on local dive sites can be found on Pete Mitchell's  excellent web site,
